Barnacle King cleans superyacht and megayacht hulls in the water, at the slip, from Miami to Stuart. We have cleaned U.S. Coast Guard vessels and superyachts over 360 feet, and the largest vessel we have worked on measured 418 feet. Motor yachts, sailing yachts, expedition and explorer yachts, displacement and semi-displacement hulls, sportfish and commercial vessels are all handled by the same divers, on the same schedule, with the same reporting. There is no upper limit on the vessels we take, and no minimum.
We service motor yachts, sailing yachts, expedition and explorer yachts, displacement and semi-displacement hulls, sportfish and commercial vessels throughout South Florida.
Feadship, Lurssen, Oceanco, Amels, Benetti, Westport, Trinity, Christensen, Delta, Heesen, Baglietto, Codecasa, Perini Navi, Palmer Johnson, Burger, Broward, Hargrave, Sunseeker, Princess, Azimut, Ferretti, Pershing, Riva, Sanlorenzo, Nordhavn, Hatteras, Viking, Bertram, Merritt and Rybovich.
Vessel sizes run from 10 feet to over 400 feet, including 80 foot yachts, 100 foot yachts, 150 foot yachts, 200 foot yachts, 250 foot yachts and 300 foot yachts. A 20 foot center console gets the same divers, the same reporting and the same standard as a 300 foot motor yacht.
Send us the LOA, beam and draft and we will tell you the crew size and the timeline.
The nearest yard that can haul a vessel over 200 feet is in Fort Pierce, roughly 100 miles north of Fort Lauderdale. Pier Sixty-Six berths vessels to 400 feet. Bahia Mar Yachting Center berths to 300 feet. Yacht Haven Grande Miami berths to 550 feet.
Most of the large fleet sitting in South Florida cannot dry dock locally. We clean it where it floats, with the vessel in service, no haul out and no yard period.
Anodes are checked on every visit and replaced when they need it. We carry replacements, and we handle every type of zinc anode replacement.
We clean to protect the coating. Superyacht paint is built to run two years or more, and gentle cleaning on a short cycle is what gets you there. For heavy growth on hard surfaces such as running gear, pilings and lifts, we also offer cavitation cleaning.
Before a yard period, a refit or a repaint, we clean and document the bottom so the shipyard starts from a known condition. After a launch, we get the vessel back on a maintenance cycle before growth takes hold.
Ahead of hurricane season we clean and inspect running gear and check anodes so nothing is left to chance while the vessel sits.
Growth on running gear costs speed and makes sea trial numbers read wrong. We clean and photograph the bottom and running gear before the trial so the vessel performs and the buyer sees the true condition.
We produce underwater condition reports with photographs and video covering hull, bottom paint, running gear, anodes and any damage found. Yacht brokers, buyers and marine insurance carriers have accepted our reports as part of pre purchase and claims documentation.
We also provide 24/7 prop pulling when a propeller has to come off in the water.
Ship Repairers Legal Liability covers damage to the vessel we are working on. Standard general liability does not.
USL&H is the correct coverage for divers working on navigable waters. We are licensed and insured to work in any marina, yard or private slip across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Martin counties, and we send certificates on request. More detail is on our hull cleaning insurance page.
We can put five to six divers on a superyacht and finish the hull in a day. Crew size follows the vessel.
We run surface supplied air on most work. On deeper draft vessels we dive scuba so the team can work the full hull without hose limits.
Every service ends with a dive report: photographs of the hull and running gear, bottom paint condition, anode condition, and anything found that you need to know about. Invoices are broken out by line item.
We hold the schedule. If we say Tuesday, we are there Tuesday. Emergency and same day service is available when you need it.
We work with yacht captains, chief engineers, superyacht management companies, yacht management firms and owners representatives throughout South Florida. Tell us the vessel and the window, and we handle the rest.
Vessels on a recurring schedule can be placed on one of our hull protection plans.

The fleet comes back here. Yachts run Mediterranean summers and Caribbean and Bahamas winters, then return to South Florida for service. The season runs from the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show through spring, and the Palm Beach International Boat Show after it.
Send us your arrival date and vessel details and we will have the crew waiting.
Most large yachts here run a monthly cycle. Warm water grows fouling year round. We will tell you what your vessel needs after the first dive.
