Marine Services in Miami, FL

Our Miami dive team provides a full range of underwater and waterfront maintenance services for yachts, sportfishing boats, sailing vessels, and commercial craft throughout the area:

Hull Cleaning: Regular underwater hull cleaning removes barnacles, slime, and biofouling before marine growth increases drag and fuel costs. Essential in Miami-Dade County’s year-round warm, tropical waters.

Cavitation Cleaning: Non-abrasive ultrasonic cleaning for propellers, running gear and other unpainted surfaces, and for pilings, seawalls, floating docks and lifts. Removes growth without damaging your antifouling coating or polluting the surrounding water.

Zinc Anode Replacement: We inspect and replace zinc anodes on every applicable service, protecting your vessel from galvanic corrosion in Miami’s electrically active marina environments.

Dock Cleaning: Professional cleaning for docks, finger piers, and dock hardware to maintain appearance, prevent deterioration, and protect your waterfront investment.

Piling Cleaning: Marine growth on pilings accelerates wood rot and structural damage. We keep your pilings clean and extend their lifespan with regular maintenance.

Seawall Cleaning: Algae, barnacles, and biofouling buildup on seawalls can conceal cracks and accelerate erosion. Our seawall cleaning service keeps your structure visible and protected.

Lift Cleaning: Boat lift frames and bunks accumulate growth and corrosion quickly in South Florida’s saltwater environment. We clean and inspect lifts throughout Miami’s waterfront communities.

Why Miami Yacht Owners Choose Barnacle King

Miami‘s warm, biodiverse waters create some of the most aggressive biofouling conditions on the East Coast. Barnacles, slime, and algae attach quickly in Biscayne Bay and the surrounding coastal waterways, and left unchecked they drive up fuel costs, degrade coatings, and put unnecessary strain on running gear.

Barnacle King was built specifically for this environment. Our Miami dive team cleans bottom-painted hulls by hand, because light brushing on a regular schedule lifts growth without taking off the paint you paid for. Cavitation is used where it belongs: running gear and other unpainted metal, hulls running bare gel coat, and pilings, seawalls, docks and lifts.

We also support transient yachts arriving for the Miami International Boat Show and vessels preparing to depart for the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, or extended offshore passages. Whether you keep your vessel at Island Gardens Deep Harbour, Fisher Island Marina, or a private dock on the Venetian Islands, our team tailors every service to the demands of Miami‘s elite boating environment.

Every service includes:

✓ Real-time GPS diver tracking

✓ Post-clean photos and a written dive report

✓ On-time guarantee: if we don’t confirm within 30 minutes, your first clean is free

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you cover all of Miami-Dade, or only Miami Beach?

All of Miami-Dade. Our Miami location is based at Miami Beach Marina, but our divers work the full length of Biscayne Bay, from the Aventura marinas on the Broward line through Miami Beach and the Venetian Islands, past Watson Island and Downtown, into Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne and Coral Gables. We also cover the Miami River corridor.

How much does hull cleaning cost in Miami?

Our standard retail rate is a $220 flat fee for vessels under 40 ft, then $5.50 per foot from 40 to 69 ft, $6.00 per foot from 70 to 99 ft, and $6.50 per foot at 100 ft and over. A 45 ft sportfish works out to about $247.50 per cleaning. Access and condition can change a quote, and a first clean on a hull that has not been touched in a while is a bigger job than the maintenance cleanings that follow. Full detail is on our hull cleaning prices page.

How often should I clean my hull in Biscayne Bay?

Most of our Miami clients run a four-week schedule. Biscayne Bay is warm, clear and shallow in much of the bay, which is good growing water, so intervals here tend to be tighter than owners expect. Bare gel coat with no bottom paint needs attention every 10 days to two weeks. Boats that sit unused between weekends foul faster than boats that run regularly.

Can you service a vessel at a Miami River yard before or after a refit?

Yes. The Miami River is one of the densest concentrations of yard and refit work in South Florida, and vessels hauled for refit still need hull, running gear and zinc attention before and after they splash. We work the river corridor, including RMK Merrill-Stevens, Hurricane Cove, Jones Superyacht Miami and River Cove Marina.

Are you insured, and can you send a certificate of insurance to my marina?

Yes, and most Miami-Dade marinas and dockmasters ask for one before a diver goes in the water. We issue certificates on request, usually the same business day. We carry $3,000,000 in total per-occurrence liability, which is $1M/$2M general liability plus a $2M umbrella, plus Ship Repairers Legal Liability covering damage to the vessels we work on, and workers compensation and USL&H on every diver.

Do you replace zinc anodes during the same visit?

Yes. Anodes are checked on every cleaning and replaced in the water at the same visit, with no second trip and no haul-out. In warm, fast-moving water like Government Cut and the inlets, anodes can go quicker than owners expect, so anything more than half consumed gets flagged in your dive report.

What do I get after each cleaning?

After-photos with every invoice, taken by trained divers on professional underwater camera equipment, plus a written dive report and a live GPS tracking link so you can watch the crew arrive. Your card stays on file and is charged only after the service has been performed and documented.
