We protect two things you own: your vessel and your waterfront property.
The third thing we protect is the one you cannot buy back. Your time.
Most underwater cleaning is sold as a job: you notice growth, you make a call, you chase a quote, you wait, you approve an invoice. Every one of those steps costs you attention you would rather spend on the water. We sell it as a standing arrangement instead, and Barnacle King has run it that way for thousands of customers across South Florida since 2019.
Onboard once. Then stop thinking about it.
Getting set up takes one conversation. After that, the maintenance of your hull, dock, seawall or lift simply happens, and you find out about it because your phone tells you, not because you had to ask.
- Recurring scheduling handled entirely by us. Your interval lives in our system and dispatches automatically. Nothing depends on anyone remembering, including you.
- On-the-way texts. You know when we are coming without checking a calendar.
- A live GPS tracking link on every job: watch the crew arrive at your vessel the way you would track a delivery.
- After-photos with every service, taken by trained divers on professional underwater camera equipment.
- A dive report documenting what was found and what was done below the waterline.
- Card on file, charged automatically once the work is complete. No invoice to open, no approval to give, no payment to remember.
That last point is the one our clients mention most, and it is worth being precise about: the card is charged after the service is finished, never before. You are not prepaying, and you are not being billed for something that did not happen. You simply stop having a task.
A plan is not a discount
Every cleaning on a plan is billed at our standard per-cleaning rates, the same as a one-off call. We are not the cheapest option in South Florida and we do not try to be.
What you are paying for is that it is handled: insured divers, documented work, a schedule that holds, and a service you never have to manage. If the deciding factor is the lowest number, there are cheaper divers. If the deciding factor is never thinking about your bottom again, that is what this is.
Billing, and the one discount we do offer
We bill after the work is completed. You are never paying in advance for a cleaning that has not happened, on a plan or off one.
The single exception is prepayment, and it is the only discount we offer. If you would rather commit up front, we can build a custom discounted protection plan around 6 or 12 prepaid cleanings, priced to your vessel and interval. It is quoted individually rather than sold off a rate card. Mention it when you call and we will put numbers together.
Hull Protection Plans
| Interval | Who it is for |
|---|---|
| 2 weeks | Bare gel coat with no bottom paint. Unpainted hulls foul fast and hold growth hard. These need cleaning at minimum every 10 days to two weeks. Also suits heavy-growth slips and boats run hard year-round. |
| 4 weeks | Where most of our clients sit. The right default for a painted hull in typical South Florida salt water. |
| 5 weeks | Lighter seasonal use, or slips with slower growth. |
| 8 weeks | Lightly used vessels, and boats kept in brackish water up the river: lower salinity means growth builds more slowly, so cleaning can safely be spaced out. |
Every interval is available across all vessel sizes: 0 to 40 ft, 40 to 69 ft, 70 to 99 ft, and 100 ft and over.
Not sure which fits? Tell us whether your hull is painted or bare gel coat, where it is docked, and how often you run it. That is usually enough for us to recommend an interval.
Why the interval matters
A hull cleaned on a regular schedule only ever needs a light pass. A hull left through a South Florida summer becomes heavy growth, and that is a different job in every respect.
Fouling costs you continuously while it sits there. Drag means fuel and speed on every trip. Heavy growth is also harder to remove, which means more aggressive cleaning against your bottom paint and a shorter life for it. Bottom paint is the expensive thing to replace, not the cleaning.
A boat on a schedule is also simply ready. You decide to go out, and the hull is already clean.
Dock ladder cleaning: the one most properties overlook
A dock ladder sits permanently in the water and fouls like a hull does. Barnacles on the rungs are sharp, and the person who meets them is barefoot, wet, and pulling their full weight up with both hands and feet at once.
Falling off a dock is usually harmless. Climbing out on a fouled ladder is where people get hurt. Many of the condo associations we work with clean their ladders yearly for exactly this reason, and any marina or private dock with ladders carries the same exposure.

Floating Dock Protection Plans
| Interval | Who it is for |
|---|---|
| 6 weeks | Our most frequent dock schedule. The right choice when appearance matters: most high-end luxury properties clean at this cadence, because growth on a floating dock is visible from the house. |
| 3 months | Where most dock clients sit. Keeps growth off the underside and flotation before it becomes a structural or buoyancy problem. |
Boat lifts
We recommend boat lifts be cleaned every six months. Growth on beams, bunks, cables and pulleys adds weight and accelerates wear on the components you least want failing while a vessel is suspended over the water.
Yearly cavitation: seawalls, pilings and hulls
Cavitation cleaning strips built-up growth and residue that routine cleaning does not reach, without the abrasion of aggressive manual scraping.
Most clients run cavitation annually, and most schedule it as one visit covering the seawall and dock pilings together, since the crew and equipment are already on site and those surfaces foul on a similar cycle.
Included on every visit
- Work performed by trained, insured divers using manual scrapers, brushes and cavitation equipment
- After-photos and a dive report with every invoice
- $3,000,000 total per-occurrence liability including Ship Repairers Legal Liability, which covers your vessel while we work on it
- Workers’ compensation and USL&H coverage on every diver
- Certificates of insurance issued to your marina or condo association on request
- Service across Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Martin counties
